Virgin Voyages Scarlet Lady
The Scarlet Lady
I just returned from my first experience on Virgin Voyages. The ship we sailed on was the Scarlet Lady sailing round-trip from Miami. First impression is the ship is beautifully designed with many features, colors and layouts. The colors are vibrant and gives the ship life.

The best part of the onboard experience are the crew and food in the numerous dining venues. There are a number of restaurants including Extra Virgin, Wake, Kitchen Table, and more. Each is uniquely designed and menus match the venue. On top of the high quality gastro experience are the staff there to tend to your every need and desire much as you would find in a fine dining experience on land.
For a lighter fare is the Galley on Deck 15. Here you will find a collection of food venue much as you would find in a food court but with a major twist. Table service is provided throughout the Galley and the food is delivered fast and hot!

Uniqueness continues throughout the ship. On each and every sailing there is one night designated Scarlet Night. Sailors (guests) are invited to dress in scarlet for the evening. So everywhere you look you see a sea (pardon the pun) of scarlet red. During the evening crew do "pop ups" where they will do something special for the sailors. My personal experience was a female singer approached my wife and me and asked if she could sing us a song. We followed her to bench and she began to sing. Before we knew it four other people came out with large branches and started waving them over us as if we were on a boat sailing along. Finally, two other female singers came out and how we had a trio singing.

The staterooms are very nicely designed and each balcony was a scarlet hammock so you can sit or sleep in the open while you enjoy the sea or night time air. I did find one thing that was disappointing and that was the bathroom. If you leave out the small sized shower the remaining bathroom area consisting of the sink and counter plus the toilet was no larger than an airplane bathroom.

Overall, the experience was top draw.
